Ajdar Ibrahimov was born on April 29, 1919 in Ashgabat. In 1940 he graduated from the Ashkhabad Theater School. Participant of the war. After the end of the decade he entered the intelligence school and went to the front. From the war he returned to the rank of a senior lieutenant and entered the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography for directing faculty, S. Yutkevich and M. Romm. In 1952 he graduated from VGIK. Since 1962 he worked at the film studio Mosfilm. Films of the filmmaker were awarded prizes at numerous international and All-Russian film festivals. In 1968 the film "26 Baku Commissars" received the Second Prize of the III All-Union Film Festival "For the Best Historical and Revolutionary Film" (Leningrad). In 1974-1976 he was the head of the course at the Moscow State Institute of Culture, in the film directing group. Peru A. Ibragimova owns many stories published in Soviet periodicals. He wrote books dedicated to the Vietnamese people: "Seen in Vietnam", "The Sun Cries", "The Girl from the Tribe of Tai", "The Fighting Vietnam". Member of the Union of Cinematographers of the USSR. Member of the CPSU since 1952. He died on September 20, 1993 in Moscow. He was buried in Baku on the Alley of Honor.
