Gunduz Abbasov was born in 1930 in the Dagli district of Baku, in the family of Shamsaddin Abbasov, director of the Baku studio. Shamsaddin Abbasov's wife, Melek, was the niece of Azerbaijani playwright Jafar Jabbarli.He was intersting in art from his childhood, and he graduated from the Baku Art School in 1952, and journalism department of the Azerbaijan State University in 1961. Gunduz Abbasov is well known for his role in the film " Onun böyük ürəyi " and " Bir qalanın sirri ". Afterwards, he starred in several films created various memorable characters in that films. The actor also took part in many articles of the "Mozalan" along with serious roles. The last film starring the actor was "Yuxu". Gunduz Abbasov died on August 21, 1995.
