Mammadhuseyn Tahmasib was born in 1907 in the city of Nakhichevan. In 1927 he graduated from the Baku Pedagogical College. Then he worked for 3 years as a teacher at a school in Nakhichevan. In 1933 he graduated from the faculty of language and literature of the Azerbaijan Pedagogical InstituteLiterary activity began in 1934. In 1938, the journal "Revolution and Culture" printed a script by M. Takhmasib "Qacaq Nabi". In 1960, he wrote the script "Onu Baqishlamaq olramı", "Bir qalanın sirri" for which the films of the same name were shot. The play fairy tale "Yaz" (1938), The Peleng Yuvasi (1941), Hind nagili (1956), Rubai Dunyası (1968) were successfully staged at the stages of the republican theaters In 1946-1977 he participated in the compilation and preparation for the publication of works of folk art "Koroglu", "Anecdotes of Molla Nasreddin", "Ashug Alesker", "Kitabi Dede Korkud", "Azerbaijan dastans". The author of the book "Kitabi Dede Korkut" (1940) (translated by V. V. Bartold "The book of my grandfather Korkut. On October 5, 1982 he died.
