Alisattar Atakishiyev was born on December 25, 1906 in Baku. Since childhood, carried away painting, in 1927 he left for Moscow, where he entered the All-Union Artistic and Technical School. In 1930, after graduating from college, he returned to Baku, got a job at the film studio as an artist-designer. Have working all year on this work, he decided to enter the camera faculty of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography. After graduating from the institute in 1936, Alisattar Atakishiyev stayed in Moscow, began working at Mosfilm. In 1938, the director V. Turin, invited him to the Baku Film Studio, to be the operator of the film "Baku People". In 1943, Atakishiyev worked as an production director in the film. In 1944, it was decided to film the musical comedy "Arshin Mal-Alan" by Uzeir Hajibeyov. Alisattar Atakishiyev and Mukhtar Dadashev were approved by the operator of the picture. The film was a great success and went around the movie screens of the whole world. In 1961 A. Atakishiyev staged the film "Our Street". In 1964 he made the film "Magic robe", which became a favorite for a whole generation of children of the 60's. He died in 1990 in the Retirement home.
