Muravlev Aleksey Alekseevich – Soviet composer. Born May 2, 1924 in Tiflis. Honored Artist of the RSFSR (12/7/1981). In 1938–1941, he studied at the ten-year music school at the Leningrad Conservatory in the piano class of P. Linde. In 1941–1944, he studied at the Moscow Conservatoire in the composition class of M. P. Frolov and the piano class of N. I. Golubovskaya. In 1949 he graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in the composition class of Y. Shaporin (previously he studied with V. Shebalin), he studied in the piano class of G. Neuhaus. In 1967-1971, he was a lecturer at the Moscow Institute of Culture (since 1970, assistant professor). Since 1972, teaches at the Institute.
