Biography

Huang Jingyu (born 30 November 1992), also known as Johnny Huang, is a Chinese actor and model. He is well known for his roles in Addicted (2016), Operation Red Sea (2018), and Moonshine and Valentine (2018). Huang Jingyu first started his career as a model. Huang made his acting debut in the 2016 web drama Addicted, which follows the lives of four gay high school students. The web drama was a success and garnered 10 million views the day after its initial release. However, it was banned by SAPPRFT due to its homosexuality content. The same year, he was cast in his first film, Guns and Kidneys He also had a supporting role in the fantasy web drama Demon Girl 2. In 2017, Huang was cast in the fantasy romance drama Moonshine and Valentine alongside Victoria Song. In 2018, Huang starred in the patriotic action film Operation Red Sea directed by Dante Lam. The film has grossed US$579 million, making it the second highest-grossing film in China. In January, he began filming the police drama, The Thunder. In June, he was cast in the youth drama film Wild Grass. In 2019, Huang is slated to star in the comedy film Fast Life directed by Han Han.
