Ben Barnes was born on August 20, 1981 in London. Father Thomas Barnes is Professor of Psychiatry at the Imperial College of London, specializing in schizophrenia, Patricia Barnes's mother is a marriage therapist and counselor for family and marriage. There is a younger brother Jack. Ben studied at Kingston University, finishing it in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in English literature and drama, and also worked in the National Youth Youth Theater (Russian). from 1997 to 2003.
