Nadir Mehdiyev was born on June 27, 1971 in Baku. In 1999 he graduated from Cinematography Faculty of the All-Union State Cinematography Institute in Moscow. He began his career as an assistant director at the age of 18 in the film " Ölsəm bağışla" After acting as an operator assistant for two years, he filmed as operator his first feature short film " Səhnədə keçən həyat". In 1992, he confirmed his full-length feature film, "Letter to my Friend". He has made 27 feature films and documentaries as operators. He won the Golden Peary Award for the film "Dolu", which he worked as a creative operator in 2015. Filmmaker is the son of Huseyn Mehdiyev.
