Haji Ismayilov was born on January 22, 1944 in Baku. He studied at secondary school No 190. In 1963 he entered the Drama and Cinema Acting faculty of the Azerbaijan State Theater Institute named after Mirzaga Aliyev. He was invited to act in Sumgayit State Drama Theater and acted on September 2, 1968 in a young troupe. In this theater, he played M.F. Akundov's " Müsyö Jordan və dərviş Məstəlişah" comedy the role of dervish Mastalishah. He later played in many roles on stage including: Ceffi in C. Patrick’s“Starnge missis Savic”, Samandar in A.Papaya’s “Yes World Changed”, Mammadali Bay in C. Cabbarli’s “Sevil”. Since 1970 he is acting on State Academic Drama Theatre stage. He made his debut in film with Mustafa role in “Birthday” film.
