Oliver Parker was born in Plymouth, the son of Jillian, Lady Parker, a writer and GP (general practitioner), and Sir Peter Parker, formerly chairman of British Rail. His brother is actor Nathaniel Parker. He is an actor and director, known for An Ideal Husband (1999), Dorian Gray (2009) and Nightbreed (1990).
