Ali Gurbanov was born in Tbilisi in 1898. Ali Gurbanov started his acting career in 1914 in the Troupe of theater amateurs. He performed for the first time at the ensemble of M.Sanani with only one word "Lets go" in the performance of the amateur "Gaveyi-Ahanggar". After this year (1915), Ali Gurbanov played Rustambey's role in the performance "Mashadi Ibad" prepared by M.Sanani. His beautiful voice increases his success. After this interest to Ali was even greater. The actor has been filming for more than 40 years in the film studio "Azerbaijanfilm" named after J. Jabbarli. Ali Gurbanov, played the role Ashug in 1928 in "Haci Kara" film, later: "Kəndlilər", "Almaz" (Aftil), "Yeni Horizont", "Səbuhi" (Ağalarov), "Bəxtiyar" (Qurban), "Doğma Xalqıma" (buruq ustası), "Mahnı Belə Yaranır" (Kor aşıq), "Qızmar Günəş Altında" (Əli dayı), "Qara Daşlar" (Usta Ramazan), "Ögey Ana" (çoban), "Bir Qalanın Sirri" (Kamran baba). He died on October 14, 1962.
