Djimon Gaston Hounsou was born on April 24, 1964. Hounsou has graced the catwalks of Paris and London as a popular male model. He has since left his modeling career and has worked on "Gladiator" (2000) and "Amistad" (1997), which earned him a Golden Globe nomination.He began his career appearing in music video. For his performances in "In America" (2002) and "Blood Diamond "(2006), Hounsou was nominated for the Academy Award for "Best Supporting Actor".
