Biography
Born in London, England. His first film work was Barry Lyndon (1975), directed by Stanley Kubrick, for which he worked as chief lighting officer. In the same capacity, he performed on the set of the film The Shining, which was released in 1980. Larry Smith's cinematography debut was Stanley Kubrick's last film, Eyes Wide Shut in 1999. Known for his work with film directors Nicholas Winding Refn, John Michael McDonagh and Tom Hooper. He played himself in the documentary Kubrick Remembered (2014). He made his directorial debut on the set of the film Trafficker, where he also acted as a cameraman, screenwriter and producer.
