Alim Zaurovich Zairov was born on April 28, 1988 in the city of Alma-Ata (Kazakhstan) into a musical family. Alim's father - Zaur Zairov - as a student played percussion in the popular Alma-Ata group "Ulan". Alim's grandfather - Musajan Zairov - was one of the founders of the Kurmangazy Orchestra of Kazakh Folk Instruments, and later became its director. After graduating from high school, Alim entered the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T.K. Zhurgenov, specializing in Jazz Piano.
