Biography

Lionel Abelanski (born 22 October 1964) is a French actor. Abelanski was born in Paris, France. He has appeared in television and film roles since 1989. In 1999 he was nominated for the César Award for Most Promising Actor for the film Train of Life (1998). In the theater, Lionel Abelanski began in 1988 with Two Pieces by Eugène Labiche: A sheep on the mezzanine floor (directed by Gilles Cohen) then Le plus Heureux des trois and played in Quisaitout and Grobeta by Coline Serreau, Germania 3 by Heiner Müller (under the direction of Jean-Louis Martinelli), Weddings and Consequences of Alan Ayckbourn, Théâtre sans animaux by Jean-Michel Ribes or Miam Miam and Edouard Baer's À la française. For the small screen, he works with several renowned directors, from Jean-Pierre Sinapi to Stéphane Clavier, through Philomène Esposito, Bertrand Arthuys, Benoit Cohen, Christian Faure and Arnaud Mercadier.
