Igor Vladimirovich Gelein (1905-1985) - Soviet cameraman. Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1965). Born March 21 (April 3), 1905 in Armavir (now Krasnodar Territory). From the townspeople of the city of Tukkum, Kurland province (now the city of Tukums). In 1920 he graduated from the 61st Soviet labor school of the 2nd step of the Moscow City District (Voskresensky Real School). In 1921 - 1927 he studied at the geodesic department of the Moscow Land Institute (State University on land management). He began his career in cinema in collaboration with directors A.O. Gavronsky and A.I. Medvedkin. Since 1945 - the operator of the film studio "Mosfilm".
