Ogtay Mirasadulla oglu Mirqasimov - is Azerbaijani film director, screenwriter, People's Artist of Azerbaijan (2000), holder of "Sharaf" order (2018). Ogtay Mirgasimov was born on June 12, 1943 in Baku. In 1963-1968 he studied at the faculty of directing faculty of Moscow State Conservatory, returned to Baku film studio "Azerbaijanfilm". He is the author and director of several documentaries, feature films. In 1993-2001 he worked as General Director of Azerkinovideo Production Unit. He was awarded Jafar Jabbarli Prize in 2015. He was awarded the Order of Honor in June 2018. He was awarded the National Cinema Award of the Union of Cinematographers of the Republic of Azerbaijan on August 2, 2018.
