An unflinching Ozark Mountain girl hacks through dangerous social terrain as she hunts down her drug-dealing father while trying to keep her family intact. The main character of the picture is 17-year-old Ri from a dysfunctional family; her mother is seriously ill and her father, a drug dealer, is in prison. By virtue of this situation, the heroine and her younger brother and sister are barely making ends meet. Soon, Ri finds out about the disappearance of her recently released father, and the local sheriff informs the girl that if he does not appear in court in the near future and does not pay a mortgage payment, then her and her family will be taken away. Ri goes in search of his father, who is rumored to have already died.
