Andrey Shalyopa was born on February 19, 1972 in St. Petersburg. In 1998 he graduated from the St. Petersburg State Economic University. He changed several professions and as a result became a screenwriter, realizing his childhood dream.
He made his debut in cinema in 2008 with the movie "Catch a witch" - a horror film with elements of black humor, in which he acted as a director, screenwriter, producer and performer of the main role. He wrote scripts for films and serials: "Squat", "Love and 1000 trifles", "Red", "The word of a woman", "Cherkizon. Disposable people "and to a number of others.
In 2009 he wrote a screenplay for the film about the Panfilov heroes. When preparing the script for more than a year, it was spent studying historical materials, searching for reliable sources to recreate the picture of events. The lack of sponsors and state support forced the creators to use croweding - in 2013, the film "28 Panfilovites" collected on Boomstarter 3 3,191,595 rubles, becoming one of the most successful crowed-fandering projects in Russian cinematography. The film was released in the rental on November 24, 2016 and was named the best film of 2016 according to a poll by VTCIOM.
