Katherine Matilda Swinton was born 5 November 1960. She is a British actress, model, and artist. She is known for her roles in both arthouse films and large-scale Hollywood productions. She won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress and the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her performance as Karen Crowder in the 2007 film Michael Clayton. She also won the BAFTA Scotland Award for Best Actress for the 2003 film Young Adam, and has received three Golden Globe Award nominations.
