Marina Migunova was born in Moscow on October 15, 1965 in a family of geologists. In 1988 she graduated with honors from MGMSU in 1990 with a residency in radiation diagnostics. For some time she worked in her specialty. Since 1995, she worked in the TV-6 Media advertising agency as a creative director. In 1997, she entered the VGIK directing department at the studio of V. Kobrin, then transferred to the workshop of V. Mann. At the same time, she worked at the Arktur advertising agency. Graduated from VGIK with honors in 1999.
