Jon East is a British television and film director, who has also produced and executive produced several award-winning drama series and single films. Between 2005 and 2008 he ran the BBC Children's Drama Department. Jon started work in the industry as a film editor on documentaries and has also worked as the Chief Storyline Writer and Producer on the BBC's long running EASTENDERS. He also has worked as a storyboard and concept artist for TV, pop promos and commercials. As director he won a BAFTA for best children's drama, THAT SUMMER DAY and was also nominated at the Venice Biennale for the SILVER LION with his 35mm short, IT CAN BE DONE.
