Ondřej Vetchý (born 16 May 1962) is a Czech actor. He was born in Jihlava, Czechoslovakia. He is currently employed at The Drama Club (DC) in Prague. Ondrej Vetchy graduated at 1984 at Prague Conservatory in musical-drama department. His first achievement was the part of young devil in one of the best Czech fantasy for children ever - S certy nejsou zerty (There Are No Jokes with Devils) from the director Hynek Bocan. Ondrej Vetchy succeed like only one Czech movie actor at European Film Awards, when he was nominated for the part of cool masher Dan in drama Dum pro dva. He achieved in comedies as well as in dramas. His most popular characters are soldier Kefalin in comedy Cerni baroni (Nr. 1 hit in Czech theaters of the year), grave digger Broz in Oscar awarded movie by Jan Sverak Kolya (Czech Lion nominee, Nr. 1 hit in Czech theaters of the year), Kvido's father in Bajecna leta pod psa (Wonderful Years that Sucks, Czech Lion nominee, Nr. 1 hit in Czech theaters of the year, Award of Cinema Magazine for Best Actor), pilot in the Tmavomodry svet (Czech Lion nominee, Nr. 1 hit in Czech theaters of the year, Award of Cinema Magazine for Best Actor) and irresponsible son in Babi leto (Autumn Spring). Ondrej Vetchy is a member of very famous Czech theatre Cinoherni klub and he is also very successful in work for TV. Ondrej Vetchy belongs to the most popular Czech actors ever.
