Godzilla: King Of The Monsters Final Teaser

28 May, 2019

A new teaser for Godzilla: King of the Monsters has been released, showing the famous monsters fighting it out. Fans won't have to wait much longer for the new Godzilla film, because it is now just one week away from stomping into theaters. Tickets went on sale two weeks ago.

By now, everyone is aware that Godzilla: King of the Monsters promises to be one of the year's biggest blockbusters. If early reactions are any indication, the film features some incredibly grand battles. For longtime Godzilla fans, the film is an especially big deal because it is adapting other TOHO monsters. For the first time, Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah are being adapted outside Japan. The first American Godzilla film in 1998 only featured the title monster, and the 2014 film featured an original creature called M.U.T.O. Now, Godzilla will appear alongside familiar, iconic characters.

A lot of the footage in the video has been seen before, but some of it is extended. There are also some new clips as well. Of note is when Ghidorah is about to attack a human inside a structure, but Godzilla arrives in time. We also see Mothra directly attacking Ghidorah. There's also another new Mothra scene of her clawing at Rodan. Finally, Godzilla's burning form is given a significant amount of screen time. Although previous trailers and marketing videos teased huge action, the final one goes all out. It looks like Godzilla: King of the Monsters will not even remotely disappoint those who are looking forward to a nonstop thrill ride.

Perhaps the greatest aspect of the final look is how grand the monsters themselves are portrayed. Since the Comic-Con 2018 trailer, the monsters have been shown nothing but reverence and respect. In the original TOHO films, these monsters were not treated as runaway beasts, but characters with power greater than humankind. In King Ghidorah's first appearance, it was said he destroyed an entire planet's civilization. Mothra has been consistently portrayed as a goddess. Rodan, simply by flying, can level whole cities. Godzilla himself remains the most powerful and endearing monster in pop culture. Godzilla: King of the Monsters appears to be faithfully adapting these characters.

Although plenty of footage has been released, there is still some mystery to the story. Rodan is seen battling both Ghidorah and Mothra, so it's not known if the Pteranodon will end up working alongside Godzilla, or remain a solo act. Some aspects of the human storyline are also a mystery. Whatever the case, Godzilla: King of the Monsters has positioned itself as a film that must be viewed on the big screen.
