Paula Devonshire
Producer
Born and raised in Toronto, Paula Devonshire graduated with a business degree from the University of Toronto, Canada. She began her film career in post production working on major network TV series such as Due South and La Femme Nikita. Paula attended the prestigious Canadian Film Centre’s Producer’s Lab where she teamed up with fellow alumni and subsequently produced on the dramatic features Treed Murray (Bill Phillips) and Nothing from noted sci-fi director Vincenzo Natali (Cube, Splice, Hannibal). She was the in-house production supervisor at Copper Heart Entertainment for several years. While at Copper Heart Paula worked on the Oscar winning animated film RYAN. She also produced her debut feature films Unleashed and The Beginning, the two sequels to the critically acclaimed independent feature Ginger Snaps. Paula produced the feature film Real Time, was co-producer on George A. Romero’s Diary Of The Dead and went on to partner with Romero to produce Survival Of The Dead which premiered at the Venice Film Festival. Paula has also produced on Serendipity Point Films’ comedy features You Might As Well Live, The Right Kind Of Wrong and on Atom Egoyan’s most recent feature Remember. Her most recent features include the critically acclaimed coming of age drama Wet Bum which premiered at TIFF 2014, and the psychological thriller The Dark Stranger. Paula worked at E1 Television as a Production Executive supervising several TV shows in production and development. Her other television producing credits include Pure Pwnage, Men With Brooms, John Grisham’s The Firm, Four In The Morning, Vikings and the TBS hit series People Of Earth.Paula is an active member of ImagineNative (the largest aboriginal film festival in the world) acting as Treasurer on the Board of Directors. Paula is a member of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte First Nation. Paula is also a member of the Director’s Guild of Canada and is on the Feature Film Board for the Canadian Media Producer’s Association.
