Gys de Villiers is a South African actor who was awarded his Alien of Extraordinary ability visa (Green Card Holder) In 2015 for performance in film, television and theatre and he is now residing in New York. His career span 36 years and he has built an impressive theatre, film and television career in South Africa and abroad. It includes over 58 professional theatre productions, 30 feature films, 20 television series, 12 long-running soap operas. In his time living in the USA, he has done 94 shoots for short films, TV series, Web Series, Feature films, corporate videos, Theatre etc. He recently won: Best Actor Award in a short at The International Filmmaker Festival Of World Cinema - Nice, for his performance in "It Gets Better". His most recent international work was in 'Mandela Long Walk to Freedom' with Idris Elba where he played president FW De Klerk. He also starred in 'Vehicle 19' with the late Paul Walker.
