David Yates

David Yates (born 8 October 1963) is an English filmmaker who has directed feature films, short films, and television productions. Yates rose to mainstream prominence by directing the final four films in the Harry Potter series. His work on the series brought him major commercial success along with accolades, such as the British Academy Britannia Award for Excellence in Directing. Yates's following projects include, but are not limited to, "The Legend of Tarzan" (2016) and the "Fantastic Beasts" series.Early in his career, Yates directed various short films and became a prolific television director. His credits include the six-part political thriller "State of Play" (2003), for which he won the Directors Guild of Great Britain Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement; the adult two-part documentary drama "Sex Traffic" (2004); and the Emmy Award-winning TV film "The Girl in the Café" (2005). Yates is a founding member of Directors UK. He has had a close partnership with Warner Bros. as a director and producer.<p "="">In 2005, David Yates was chosen by Warner Bros. as the director of the fifth Harry Potter film. Before the shooting, he visited Leavesden Studios. The film "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" has gained immense popularity, having collected in the world 938 468 864 $. Later Yeats was chosen as the director of the sixth film about Harry Potter. During the filming of the film, Warner Bros. claimed that the last "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" movie should be divided into two parts. David Yates once again became a director. The first part of the movie "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" was released in November 2010. The film was rated worse by critics than the previous Yates film. The only director who filmed more than two books, "Potter".
