Biography

Khan Babayev was born on March 2, 1919 in the village of Seydakaran (nowadays in the Lankaran district), in the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic. In 1922 together with family he moved to Baku where in 1926 he was admitted to high school No. 48. From 1931 to 1937 I studied at faculty of electronics of the Azerbaijani state polytechnic, and from 1938 to 1950 — at faculty of the cameraman of All-Union state institute of cinematography in a workshop Boris Volchek. In pre-war years I worked as the assistant to the mechanic, the electrical technician in various organizations. Babayev was called in ranks of the Soviet Army by Voroshilovsky RVK of Baku in 1941, having served till 1946. I took part in the Great Patriotic War. Presumably, operator of the 1st battery of the 1st division of the 6th art regiment of the Southern front Red Army man Babayev order VS of the Southern front No.: 21/N from: 11/7/1941 it is awarded with the medal "For Services in Battle" for fast restoration of communication with NP under strong artillery and mortar fire of the opponent.
