Leo Kunnas (born November 14, 1967 in Kliima village, Põlva County) is an Estonian writer and a military officer in reserve (Colonel Lieutenant). Leo Kunn finished his elementary school at Vastseliina Secondary School. In 1984, he attempted to escape from the Soviet Union, but was abandoned and sentenced to prison. After his release, he volunteered to join the Soviet Army.Between 1989 and 1991, Leo Kunnas studied history and philosophy at the Estonian Institute of Humanities and the University of Helsinki, then at the Finnish National Defense College. In the 2011 Riigikogu elections, he selected 3269 votes as an independent candidate, ie 3.7% of the votes cast in the fourth electoral district. It was not enough to get to the Riigikogu.
