Yuri Baliyev was born on July 22, 1949. Soviet and Azerbaijani actor, People's Artist of Azerbaijan. In 1975 he graduated from the Yaroslavl Theater School. Since then he is actor of the Azerbaijan State Russian Drama Theater named after Samed Vurgun. He played more than 60 roles on the stage of the theater including: Ayı (APÇexov "Ayı"), Bernardo (L.de Veqa "Xitroumnaya vlüblennaya"), Rasputin (R.İbrahimbəyov "Petlya"), Çingizxan (M.Şaxanov "Çingizxanın sirri "), İxtiyar (N.Xəzri" Burla Xatun "), Şamrayev (APÇexov" Qağayı "), Professor (N.Rəsulzadə" Nonsens "). Also starred in several films: "Ovsunçu", "Babək", "Salandar", "Tehran-43".
