Jimmy Chin

Jimmy Chin (born October 12, 1973) is an American professional mountaineer, National Geographic photographer, Academy Award-winning director, and New York Times best-selling author.

Biography
Together with his wife Elisabeth Wasserhely, he directed “Free Solo.”
Jimmy has organized and led numerous mountaineering, skiing and search expeditions in China, Pakistan, Nepal, Greenland, Tanzania, Chad, Mali, South Africa, Borneo, India and Argentina. His achievements include descending and skiing from the summit of Everest, conquering the great walls and climbing towers of the Karakoram in Pakistan and the Garhwal Himalayas in India, and trekking across the Changtang Plateau in northwestern Tibet.
His work has been featured in numerous publications, including National Geographic, Outside, and Men's Journal. Jimmy, working with his wife Elizabeth, directed the documentaries Meru and Free-Solo, the latter of which won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature at the 91st Academy Awards.
