Anthony Ramos received his musical education in 2009-2011. at the American Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. He was helped to pay for the selection for admission to the Academy by a music teacher in his high school, after which he studied on a full scholarship. Starting in 2011, Ramos has acted in regional productions and tours. In 2014, he was cast in an off-Broadway production of Lin-Manuel Miranda's upcoming hit musical Hamilton. At the Public Theater and the Richard Rodgers Broadway Theater, Ramos played in Hamilton from its premiere in early 2015 until November 2016 in the "double" role of John Laurens and Philip Hamilton.
