Valentin Zakharovich Azernikov (born 1934, Moscow) is a Soviet and Russian playwright and screenwriter. Honored Art Worker of the Russian Federation (2007). Born in Moscow. Granddaughter of Rabbi Mordekhaya Dubina, a well-known public and political figure of Latvia and the USSR, arrested in connection with the international movement in Khabad and the organization of the illegal departure of Jews in Poland.
