Biography
Marcel Barsotti is a film music composer from germany, since 2017 owner of the production music company TUNESforMOVIES and since 2000 owner of the sound-library "Ethno World". He studied from 1982 - 1988 composition, piano and clarinet at the conservatory of munich in germany. During these years he worked with directors and producers like Sönke Wortmann, Günter Rohrbach, Caroline Link, Luc Besson-Production, Martin Moszkowisz, Carl Schenkel, Anno Saul, Josée Dayan, Oliver Berben, Nico Hofmann, Eberhard Junkersdorf, Paul Hills and Hark Bohm. Since 1995 Barsotti has composed the scores for more than 70 national and international movies such as "Pope Joan" "The Bern Miracle" "Jesus Loves Me" "Sea Wolf" "The Bible Code" "Rennschwein Rudi Rüssel 2" "Kebab Connection" or "The Poet". In 2005 Barsotti won the award for best commercial "Credit Suisse", in 2010 he received the "German Record Critics' Award" and the "Director's Choice Gold Medal" for Excellence for "Pope Joan" by the Park City Filmmusic Festival in Utah. He was also nominated in 2010 by the "Verband der deutschen Filmkritik" and by "The Score of the Year 2009" in Suisse for "Pope Joan". In 2004 and 2013 Barsotti got three nominations by the German Television Award, in 2013 a nomination by the "German Television Academy" and in 2017 the nomination for the "Deutscher Musikautorenpreis". He gives workshops and masterclasses and he was jury member by several filmfestivals.
