Ercan Kesal was born in 1959 in Avanos (Nevsehir). He completed his primary and secondary education in Avanos and his high school education in Nevsehir. He came to Istanbul in 1990 and engaged in a private health sectorm,established polyclinic and medical centers. He is still the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Private Okmeydanı Hospital which he established in 1997. Between 2004-2006, he completed his Master's Degree in Applied Psychology at İTİCÜ Institute of Social Sciences.
