Boris Vasilievich Bedniy (1916 - 1977) - Russian Soviet writer. Born on August 12 (August 25), 1916 in the village of Yaroslavskaya (now the Mostovsky District (Krasnodar Territory)) in the family of a teacher. He graduated from the Maykop Forest College and in 1941 - the Leningrad Forest Technical Academy. Having become a specialist in timber rafting, Boris arrived in the Komi Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, where he began to work as an engineer for the Vychegsplav trust.October 25, 1941 was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army. He graduated from the 4-month courses of junior lieutenants at the Pukhovichi Infantry School. Since February 1942 he served as commander of a rifle platoon of the 454 joint venture of the 100th Rifle Division on the Voronezh Front. For military distinctions on July 31, August 1, August 6, and August 7, 1942 (occupying strong points, repeatedly repulsing enemy attacks) he was presented with the Order of Lenin, but was captured at the end of August 1942, where he behaved with dignity.
He went through the lists of the unit as having died in battle and was posthumously awarded the Order of the Red Banner by order on the troops of the Voronezh Front No. 15 / n of September 9, 1942. He was released in April 1945 and, after verification, in October 1945 he was demobilized with the rank of junior lieutenant.
