Mesut Mertcan is a Turkish actor, journalist, and tele-reporter. He worked as an anchorman on several TV channels such as "TRT", "Star", "Channel 6", "Channel 9" and "Ulusal Channel". Born on September 15, 1946 in Adana. While studying at the English section of Gazi University in Ankara, he left it unfinished. Had been working at TRT since 1973. During the coup attempt on September 12, 1980, he read the statement of rebellious military forces on TRT screens. Died on August 25, 2017 in the nursing home. Actor and journalist were buried in Akkapi Cemetery.
