Biography
Aziz Acar (born March 5, 1969 in Istanbul), dubbing director, casting director, voice over actor. Mr. Acar graduated from Eskisehir Anadolu Universitesi Economics and Social Sciences Faculty and earned his masters degree in Business Administration at Isik University. Before becoming a dubbing director at TRT (the first TV channel established in Turkey ), he trained as an assistant for 7 years under the supervision of the most proficient dubbing directors among whom were Kahraman Acehan, Kemal Bilici, Dilaver Uyanik, Naile Atasagun, Ozdemir Han and Arhan Ercin. During his TRT years he worked on numerous Turkish and foreign language movies, shows and documentaries. Among the most memorable TV shows he worked on were Alf and Bonanza, aired toward the end of 1980s. In 1996 Mr. Acar joined Dogus Yayin Grubu where he still remains as the Director of Dubbing and Translations Department for 19 years. Fluent in English and Arabic, he does voice-overs also in Arabic since 1990. Aziz Acar gives lectures on dictation, articulation, intonation and dubbing. And he has been giving lectures on dubbing at Dialog Anlatim Iletisim since 2008 and Istanbul Technical University since 2011. Apart from his casting coordinator-ship and voiceover directorship duties at (and outside of) Dogus Yayin Grubu, he did the voice-overs for the weekly sports shows La Liga between 2008 and 2017 and La Liga World between 2012 and 2017. He was the signature voice of NTV Spor Smart. He is currently the head of dubbing and subtitling works of DMAX and TLC, affiliate channels of Discovery Channels. Mr. Acar is married to Ayse Agirman Acar since 1994 and has two children named Sevval and Agah.
