Biography

Fikrat Aliyev was born in December 12, 1939 in Baku. He had majored in acting and graduated from Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts named after M.A.Aliyev in 1966. In 1972 he took two years of scriptwriting and directing classes in Gerasimov İnstitute of Cinematography in Moscow. Since 1966he  had worked in ‘Azerbaijanfilm’ Studio.‘Baladadash’s love’ was his first film, which was shot in 1972 and was extremely popular among the people. He had been the author of nearly 20 episodes for satirical film magazine ‘Mozalan’. He had directed such films as ‘The Golden Abyss’ (1981), ‘The Tale of Old Oak’ (1986), ‘The Dream’ (1984), ‘Queue for Death’ (2009), ‘The Last Stop’ (2014). He had also directed a number of documentary films. Fikrat Aliyev worked as an actor in several films. He had played the character of Great Murad in film ‘Land, Sea, Fire, Sky’. Also played the character of Shamxal in film ‘Indomitable Kur’. With these characters he had won the heart of audience.
